Simple Afternoon

I was sitting on my couch, while watching TV getting bored. Suddenly the phone rings, I slowly get of the couch, probably just a wrong dial from my ex. But instead of my ex, a lady with a high irritating voice, starts speaking so rapidly like marathon runner, running the final lap. I think it was about a poker tournament that would be coming up, on TV. The squeaky height of her voice, made me stand on edge, therefore with much consideration, I slowly place the phone back. While her voice rose to a higher pitch, as her voice gradually faded.
Then I slowly remembered the next line

Just joking, I remembered faintly a poker game in the "olden days" with one of my friends, that seemed to be a shining light out of my boring day. So I quickly turned my computer on, and started searching for a poker tournament. After finding it, I started to play like a madmen. Then.....
